alleviating suffering in Aceh and Nias, Indonesia caused by the recent Tsunami and earthquake that left over 170,000 dead and 2 million homeless. Here, we work closely with local communities to support and accelerate the area’s recovery.

Gender Officer (based in Banda Aceh)

The job purpose of this position is to provide advice and support to the Aceh-Nias Programme teams to ensure incorporation of gender in all activities throughout the project cycle. You will coordinate gender interventions and programme development to ensure programme quality; support gender advocacy in Aceh and Nias and take the lead in interagency gender coordination activities in Banda Aceh.

We are looking for a candidate with good knowledge of carrying out gender analysis, gender mainstreaming principles and demonstrated experience of integrating gender and diversity into development programmes. S/he is expected to have good understanding of and commitment to humanitarian principles and minimum standards for disaster response; a sound understanding of the importance of gender in humanitarian work; sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts; committed to Equal Opportunities (eg: gender, race, disability) and sympathy with the aims and objectives of Oxfam. This post is a D-1 level with starting monthly gross pay will be min IDR 10,800,000, - for at least 6 month-contract duration.
