Under the general guidance of TCEO and the FAO Representative in Indonesia,
the overall supervision of the FAO Emergency and Rehabilitation Coordinator
for Banda Aceh and direct supervision of International Project Manager, the
technical backstopping of the tsunami agriculture focal point at the FAO
Regional Officer for Asia and the Pacific (RAP) and AGA at FAO Headquarters,
the Livestock Consultant shall perform the following tasks:
· Carry out all project activities in close collaboration with BRA
in conflict and tsunami affected districts;
· Design livestock development scheme as part of integrated
agriculture (livestock, food crop and fisheries) for post conflict victim in
selected villages;
· Identify and select the beneficiaries together with the
community;
· Insure proper training and technical assistance in livestock
production to beneficiaries;
· Contribute to the definition of financial procedures for
procurement and distribution of livestock;
· Establish good contact with communities affected by conflict;
· Assist in establishing of LOA and contracts (with communities in
particular);
· Provide report of activities when and as required;
· Directly supervise and monitor distribution of inputs to
communities;
· Provide accurate information on communities needs, plans,
requests and activities related to livestock;
· Execute monitoring in the field;
· Provide any other services that may be required within his scope
of duties; and
· Implement according to project document and plan of activities
any Livestock related project/activities under FAO responsibility.
Duration of the assignment:
15 months, with possibility of extension subject to funding availability.
Location:
Banda Aceh, Indonesia, with frequent travels to Bireuen, Aceh Tengah, Aceh
Besar and Aceh Timur as requested by the Project manager.
Qualifications: University degree in Livestock production or veterinary
science, experience in working with communities and farmers, Good experience
in training and in field activities related to livestock, Experience in Aid
project (conflict of disaster). Fluent in English, Bahasa Indonesia and
Acehnese languages, good computer literacy (Word processor, spreadsheet,
database),
